Story of The Stratton House

Welcome to the all new Stratton House Hotel. September 2019 marked a new beginning for the long-established pub and hotel; a modernised interior, an enriched menu and an all new energy.

Built in the 17th century, merchants, brewers – and even Wimbledon Championship player Ruth Winch – have called the Stratton House home. In 1940, the building itself even joined the war effort by becoming the Civil Defence HQ.

In more recent years, the Stratton House has found notoriety as one of the most recognisable buildings in Biggleswade. It’s distinctive look and central location making it one of the towns most impressive pubs.

Creating a place unique to Biggleswade and the surrounding villages was an important part of the pub and hotel’s new direction. When creating the new menu, Head Chef Will Ingarfill wanted to offer ‘a standard of food that wasn’t easily available around here. Something exciting and fashionable. Something that gives the wow-factor.’
